These terms govern your use of the GREATVACS, L.L.C. website and the vacuum sales, repair, restoration, supply, field service and trade services we provide from our workshop in Draper.
Return to the HomepageThese Terms of Service form an agreement between you and GREATVACS, L.L.C., a company at 138 E 12300 S Unit 885, Draper - 84020-7976, United States (US). By using our website, requesting a service, purchasing a product or leaving a machine with us, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site and do not leave a machine for service.
You should read these terms together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information. Both documents work as a single understanding between the customer and the workshop.
Where you act for a business or another person, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on that party behalf.
GREATVACS, L.L.C. sells, services and restores vacuum equipment. Our work covers shop vacs, canisters, uprights and central systems. We describe six standing services on our website: Vacuum Sales and Fitting, Repair and Tune-Up Service, Restoration of Classic Machines, Bag and Filter Supply, Central Vac Service Calls, and Trade-In and Consignment.
These terms apply to all six services. A specific job may also carry its own written details on a job ticket or a quote, and those details apply in addition to these terms. If a written job detail conflicts with these terms, the job detail governs for that job.
We may add, change or retire a service at any time. Retiring a service does not affect a job already accepted, and we will finish work already authorized.
This website is intended for adults who can form a binding contract. By using the site you confirm that you are at least eighteen years old or that you use the site under the supervision of a parent or guardian. A person who lacks capacity to contract may use our services only through a representative who can accept these terms.
You agree to provide accurate contact details when you send a message or leave a machine. Inaccurate details can delay a repair, because we cannot return a machine or report a finding without a way to reach you.
We may decline service where a machine is unsafe, where a request is unlawful or where we cannot carry out the work to a reasonable standard. If we decline, we will explain why and return the machine.
A quote states the price for a defined scope of work. An estimate is a considered projection where the bench finding is not yet known. We try to give a quote wherever the work is predictable and an estimate only where a machine must be opened before a price can be fixed.
For sales, the price is set at the counter and confirmed on the receipt. For repair and tune-up work, the quote follows diagnosis, because a machine that has not been measured cannot be priced honestly. For restoration and central system work, the price is always quoted after diagnosis.
A quote remains valid for the period stated on it. If no period is stated, a quote remains valid for thirty days. If parts costs change materially before you approve the work, we will tell you before we proceed.
Every machine that enters the clinic receives a job ticket. The ticket records the owner, the contact details, the machine make and model, the reported fault and the condition at intake. You should review the intake note and tell us about any existing damage, missing attachment or prior repair that the ticket does not show.
The intake note protects both sides. A cracked housing, a missing tool or a worn cord written down at intake cannot later become a dispute. If you disagree with the intake note, say so before we begin work.
Machines are stored in our workshop while a job is open. We treat each machine with care, but we are not an insurer of property left with us. Where a machine has a value that matters to you, arrange your own cover.
We fit parts that are appropriate to the machine and the job. Common parts are kept on the wall, and specialist parts are ordered by model. Where an original part is no longer made, we may fit a sound equivalent and note that decision on the ticket.
Bags, belts and filters are supplied to match a stated model. It is your responsibility to give the correct make and model when ordering remotely. A part that is fitted to the wrong machine may not perform as intended, and we cannot guarantee a result where the model information is wrong.
Consumable items such as bags, belts and filters are not returnable once they have been opened or fitted, unless they are faulty. A sealed item may be exchanged within a reasonable period if it does not match the model we supplied for.
Restoration is the slowest service we offer. It takes a machine down to bare frame, renews the cord, switch, seals, bearings and worn hardware, rebuilds the bag chamber and refinishes the shell. Restoration is quoted after diagnosis, and the quote reflects the condition found rather than a standard figure.
A restored machine may not look new, and it is not sold as new. Where a part no longer exists, we adapt or machine an equivalent and record it. Cosmetic marks that are part of the machine history may be preserved deliberately, and we will tell you when that choice is made.
Because restoration involves disassembly and age-related components, the final result depends on the condition of the frame and the motor at intake. We will explain any limit we find, and we will not promise an outcome the metal cannot deliver.
Central system work is carried out at the customer property by appointment. Access to the power unit, the collection can, the inlet faceplates and the visible runs must be provided. Where a run is concealed behind a finished wall and a clog cannot be cleared through normal means, we will explain the options and any additional cost before proceeding.
Field work is scheduled so that one visit can cover the power unit, the collection can and the full run where possible. A second visit may be required where a part must be ordered or where a concealed blockage needs a different approach.
You are responsible for a safe working area at the property, including access to power and reasonable clearance around the equipment. We will not begin work in an area that is unsafe to enter.
A trade-in gives credit against a purchase once we have tested the machine and confirmed its condition. The credit is based on the tested condition and current demand, not on the original price. We will state the credit before you commit to a purchase.
Consignment places a sound machine with us for sale to a suitable buyer. We will agree the listing price, our share and the period of the listing in writing. Title to a consigned machine remains with the owner until it is sold, and the owner confirms that the machine is free of any claim by another party.
We may decline a trade or a consignment where a machine is unsafe, incomplete or unlikely to sell. A machine left after a consignment period ends must be collected within the stated time or it may be handled under the storage terms below.
Prices are stated in United States dollars. Sales tax is added where it applies. Payment is due on collection for repair and restoration work, and at the counter for a sale. A deposit may be requested for a special-order part or a large restoration, and the deposit will be credited against the final balance.
| Service | Payment Timing |
|---|---|
| Sales and fittings | At the counter |
| Repair and tune-up | On collection |
| Restoration | Deposit then balance on collection |
| Bag and filter supply | At the counter or on dispatch |
| Central vac field calls | On completion of the visit |
A machine will not be released until the account for that machine is settled. A storage charge may apply under the storage terms where a completed machine is not collected promptly.
We will contact you when a machine is ready. Please collect it within thirty days of that notice. After thirty days a reasonable storage charge may apply, because bench space in a working clinic is limited.
After a further period of ninety days without contact or collection, we may treat the machine as abandoned and dispose of it or sell it to recover costs. Before that step we will make a final contact using the details on the ticket. Proceeds from a sale of an abandoned machine are applied to the outstanding balance, and any surplus is held for the owner for a reasonable period.
Where an owner cannot be reached because the contact details were wrong or are no longer active, the same process applies, and we will keep a written record of the attempts made.
We warrant our workmanship for a period of ninety days from collection, and we pass on any manufacturer warranty that applies to a part we supplied. If a fault in our work appears within that period, contact the service desk and we will inspect the machine.
The workmanship warranty does not cover new damage, misuse, a machine used for a purpose it was not built for, a consumable item that has worn out through normal use, or a fault in a part that the customer supplied. It also does not cover a machine where a later repair by another party has altered the work we did.
Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, we will repair or replace the affected work at our discretion. This warranty is the remedy for a workmanship fault and does not create any other guarantee beyond what the law requires.
To the extent permitted by law, the total liability of GREATVACS, L.L.C. for a claim connected to a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost time, lost rental income or the cost of a substitute machine, except where the law does not allow that limit.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is not permitted.
We are not responsible for a delay caused by a supplier, a carrier or an event outside our reasonable control. Where a delay occurs, we will tell you and we will complete the work as soon as we reasonably can.
You agree to indemnify GREATVACS, L.L.C. against a claim arising from your breach of these terms, from information you gave us that was wrong, or from a machine you left with us that was not yours to leave or that carried a claim by another party.
This indemnity does not apply to the extent that a claim arises from our own negligence or from our own breach of these terms. Where a claim is made, we will tell you promptly and we will work with you on a reasonable response.
You agree to use this website for lawful purposes only. You will not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, to interfere with its operation, to scrape it at a volume that burdens the service, or to use it to distribute malicious code. You will not misrepresent your identity when you contact us.
The site is provided for information and for service contact. Content on the site may not be copied for a competing service or presented as your own. A reasonable quotation of our content with a clear reference to GREATVACS, L.L.C. is permitted.
We may suspend access to the site where we detect abuse, and we may report unlawful activity to the appropriate authority.
The text, layout, styling and images on this website belong to GREATVACS, L.L.C. or are used with permission. The company name, the workshop identity and the site design are protected as our property. You may view and print a page for your own use, but you may not reproduce the site as a whole or use our branding in a way that suggests a relationship we have not agreed.
A third party trademark, such as a vacuum brand mentioned on the site, belongs to its owner. We mention brands to describe the machines we service and not to claim any endorsement.
If you believe that content on this site infringes a right you hold, contact the service desk with the details and we will review the matter promptly.
Our site may link to a manufacturer page, a parts catalogue or a resource that helps a customer understand a machine. Those services are not under our control. We provide the links for convenience and we do not accept responsibility for the content, the availability or the practices of a third party site.
Where we order a part from a supplier, the supplier terms may also apply to that part, including a manufacturer warranty. We will pass on relevant warranty information with the part.
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short, we collect the information needed to quote, repair, restore and supply, we keep service records for the periods stated in that policy, and we do not sell customer information.
By accepting these terms you confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy. If you have a question about information we hold, contact the service desk at service@greatvacs.mom or call +17472821957.
We are not liable for a failure or a delay caused by an event beyond our reasonable control. Such events include a natural disaster, a severe weather event, a power failure, a labour disruption, a transport failure, an epidemic, a government action or a failure of a utility or a supplier.
Where such an event occurs, we will contact affected customers, we will protect machines in our care as far as we reasonably can, and we will resume work as soon as it is practical.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and the applicable laws of the United States. A dispute will first be addressed informally, because most issues are resolved by a conversation about what the bench found. Contact the service desk with the details and we will try to resolve the matter directly.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled by a court of competent jurisdiction in Utah, unless the law requires a different forum. Before any formal step, both sides agree to attempt a good-faith discussion.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent relief where it is needed to protect a legal right.
We may decline or end a service relationship where a customer is abusive to staff, where a request is unlawful, where payment is not made or where a machine creates a safety risk. Where we end a relationship, we will return the customer machine in its current state and settle any outstanding balance.
These terms continue to apply to a job that was completed before termination, including the warranty and liability sections. Ending a relationship does not cancel a debt or a duty that arose earlier.
We may update these terms when our services or a legal requirement change. The current version is always available on this page. A material change will be described clearly, and where it affects work already authorized we will apply the terms that were in force when the work was accepted.
A job accepted before a change is governed by the earlier version of these terms for that job. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms for future use.
